The barrier island communities, especially Orchid Island, Indian River Shores, and Riomar, are full of oceanfront condos and estates with large-format impact sliding doors. These doors use laminated glass, stainless steel hardware, and commercial-grade rollers. They're built to withstand hurricane-force winds. But they still wear out. NOAA data shows Treasure Coast humidity averages above 75% year-round, and the direct oceanfront salt exposure on the barrier island is intense. Even stainless steel components corrode over time.
