Port Salerno is different from most of our inland service areas because so much of the community is right on the water. Manatee Pocket is a natural harbor connected to the St. Lucie Inlet, which means tidal saltwater flows in and out every day. Homes and businesses within a few blocks of the pocket get constant salt-laden air. According to NOAA data for the Treasure Coast, average humidity here sits above 75% most of the year. Combine that with direct salt exposure and you've got conditions that wear through roller bearings and corrode track finishes faster than almost anywhere else we serve, except Hutchinson Island.
